Chapter 49: The Battle For Mobius-Part 3
The Meaning of True Peace
In a high segment of Castle Dark Soul, Shadow's group have been dealing with Dark Soul Shadow while they gave Sonic and Blaze an opportunity to go after the evil Dark Soul Metal Sonic. The fight with Dark Soul Metal Sonic's last member of the group has been rough for the heroes. And Shadow knows that no matter what, they have to obtain the last Chaos Emerald that his evil Dark Soul has in captive. They would need all seven Chaos Emeralds if they were going to help Sonic defeat Dark Soul Metal Sonic once and for all.
"Chaos Spear!" both Shadows shouted to each other as their signature attacks were thrown at each other, only for their electric attacks to collide and exploded on each other.
E-123 "Omega" took this opportunity to attack and loaded its arm into a machine gun, pointing his direction at Dark Soul Shadow and fired its weapon at him. However, Dark Soul Shadow quickly saw that coming and manipulated a dark barrier in front of him as the shield easily repelled Omega's attack. Rose the Cat came into the picture and quickly summon vines from underneath the ground to stretch out and grab onto Dark Soul Shadow's leg. While it did catch Dark Soul Shadow off guard, the evil hedgehog made short work of escaping the vines by vanishing himself into darkness. Dark Soul Shadow reappeared in midair and, with a palm of his gloved hand, fired black energy blasts that rain down at our heroes, with only some of them managing to evade Dark Soul Shadow's attack.
"This is pathetic. A serious waste of my time," Dark Soul Shadow commented on the heroes' strength, "I am slightly glad that my Master isn't wasting his time fighting you instead of me."
"Heh, this is a waste of our time too," Shadow the Hedgehog said as he began to talk smack at his Dark Soul after getting up, "I don't have time messing with someone who isn't as powerful as Dark Soul Metal Sonic."
"Why you...! I AM just as powerful as my master!!" Dark Soul Shadow shouted in anger, feeling insulted by his very own counterpart as he quickly dashes to where Shadow was, only to be frozen in his tracks by Silver's psychokinesis, "Fool! Back off!"
"Why should I?" Silver asked as he made out a small smirk before tossing Dark Soul Shadow in a far distance.
Silver's attack wasn't as effective as he hoped, however, as Dark Soul Shadow, instead of crashing against the wall, positioned himself for his feet to touch the wall instead...and propelled himself straight after the two hedgehogs in a much rather fast pace. Without giving them a chance to dodge, Dark Soul Shadow quickly grabbed both Shadow and Silver by their faces and held them up into the air as they struggle to break free.
"Who's the one talking smack now?" Dark Soul Shadow asked confidently before he suddenly began to glow brightly, indicating that he's about to use Shadow's version of his Chaos Blast attack.
Just as Dark Soul Shadow is about blow Shadow and Silver to smithereens, Cheese suddenly flies in right at Dark Soul Shadow and tackled the evil Dark Soul in a short distance away. Although it didn't hurt Dark Soul Shadow at all, Cheese managed to at least free Shadow and Silver from Dark Soul Shadow's grasp.
"Good job, Cheese!" Cream happily cheered for her Chao friend, obviously the one with Cheese's help to save the hedgehog's lives.
Cheese cheered excitedly...until Dark Soul Shadow instantly grabbed the poor Chao and tossed Cheese in a far distance, obviously a bit embarrassed that a Chao and cute rabbit stopping Dark Soul Shadow from killing Shadow and Silver.
"Cheese!" Cream cried as she quickly uses her rabbit ears to fly after Cheese before Cheese can smash into the wall, saving Cheese's life.
"With that annoying pest out of the way, where was I...oh yes...DESTROYING YOU!" Dark Soul Shadow says before lifting up his hand and fired a blast of dark energy at Shadow and Silver.
"Watch out!" Silver shouted as the two hedgehogs quickly leaped out of the way in time before the Dark Soul's blast can hit them, "We've got to get that Chaos Emerald from Dark Soul Shadow!"
"I'm well aware of that," Shadow responded to Silver, obviously he already knew that.
Before Dark Soul Shadow can launch another attack again, Dark Soul Shadow was blasted by a missile on his back. Felting that attack, the evil Dark Soul turned and noticed that Omega was the one who attacked him as well as noticing that the droid is charging in at him.
"Omega, attack!" Shadow commanded while he and Silver get back on their feet.
"AFFIRMATIVE," Omega answered before raising its robotic arm again, once again converting its arm into a machine gun weaponry before firing its weapon at Dark Soul Shadow.
The evil Dark Soul got blasted a bit by the machine gun attack, but despite that, Dark Soul Shadow continued to charge in after Omega to strike back. Seeing Dark Soul Shadow coming, it re-converted its arm from being a machine gun into being back to its regular arm before forming its metallic claw into some sort of drill-arm. Noticing that Omega was about use its drill-arm to slash at him, Dark Soul Shadow immediately wasted no time and suddenly shot out Shadow's Chaos Spear at Omega, the attack not only hitting Omega but it directly hits the same robotic arm that Omega was gonna use to attack and sliced Omega's arm right off of the robot's metal body as it drops onto the ground.
"Omega!!" Shadow shouted, quickly dashing towards to the two fighters after realizing that Omega was in trouble and gave a powerful kick to Dark Soul Shadow to give him and Omega some distance away from the villain.
"Play time's over!" Dark Soul Shadow said as he slowly began to glow again as he held his arms up while charging up his powerful attack, "Dark Chaos...BLAST!!!"
With this time no way to stopping Dark Soul Shadow from attacking, the evil Dark Soul successfully blasted the heroes away. All of them crashed against the walls of the castle and dropped roughly to the ground. And while they were lucky that they barely survived from Dark Soul Shadow's attack, the heroes are in bad condition as they even struggle to get back up on their feet.
"D-Damn it...! We can't die here!" said the annoyed Shadow, trying to get up on his feet despite the critical damage he has taken from Dark Soul Shadow's attack.
"Looks like the end is near, and I shall end this right now with one more Chaos Blast," Dark Soul Shadow said as he raised his arms again and begins to glow again, much to Shadow and the others' worry.
Without enough energy for Shadow to quickly get back on his feet and stop Dark Soul Shadow from attacking again, it seemed like the end of Shadow's group...until suddenly Dark Soul Shadow suddenly got a powerful blow to his face by someone's powerful fist as the evil Dark Soul was sent flying and crashes against the wall. Finally getting up with the others slowly joining, Shadow looks up and notices that Knuckles, Emerl and Zappy have arrived.
"Seems like you could use a hand!" said the red echidna after saving Shadow's group from Dark Soul Shadow's attack.
"Knuckles...!" Shadow said after realizing that Knuckles was the one that attacked Dark Soul Shadow.
Recovering from the powerful blow of Knuckles’ powerful fist, the annoyed villain immediately glares at both Shadow and Knuckles. It was obvious that Dark Soul Shadow just got mad from getting interrupted of finishing off Shadow’s group.
“If that red mutt is here…” Dark Soul Shadow began to speak again as he slowly cracks his bones of his fists, “Then that must mean that Dark Soul Knuckles has failed us! That stupid fool! Serves him right for his overwhelming ego!”
“And you’re next!” Knuckles shouted at the evil Dark Soul, “And nobody calls me a red mutt and gets away with it either!”
“Shut up! You’re all going to die right now as punishment for that moron’s defeat!” Dark Soul Shadow declared before he began to build up Shadow’s Chaos Energy.
Noticing that Dark Soul Shadow is going to attack, Shadow and Knuckles’ groups have combined into one and officially the heroes make haste to go after the solo Dark Soul villain. Dark Soul Shadow instantly shot out what seems like hundreds of dark Chaos Spears right at our heroes. Suddenly before the attacks can hit the group, Silver immediately got in front of the gang and uses his Psychokinesis powers to freeze most of the Chaos Spears before tossing them right back at Dark Soul Shadow. Quickly, the evil Dark Soul blocks with a darkness barrier in front to stop his own attacks of hitting him…although this left him wide open from behind with the Gemerl-body Emerl tackled against the villain’s back roughly with its horn.
With the Dark Soul hit and briefly stunned from Emerl’s attack, Omega took this opportunity to use its one remaining arm and reformed it into a cannon-like weaponry and shot out an explosive bomb that successfully hits Dark Soul Shadow, blasting the evil villain into a distance. Once the smoke clears up from Omega's attack, the others reunite with the droid while both Knuckles and Shadow stare in a distance that Dark Soul Shadow, while being angry for letting them get the upper hand, looks badly shaped.
"Those fools...are going to pay for this...this is all Dark Soul Knuckles' fault for letting this happen...!" Dark Soul Shadow spoke, barely getting himself back on his feet, "I will not be defeated by the likes of you!"
Noticing that Dark Soul Shadow is not done yet, Shadow and the others brace themselves as the Dark Soul quickly dashes towards to them with his gloved hand charging up for his next attack. Shadow leads on ahead and charges after his dark self, thus continuing the fight.
"True peace? What are you talking about?!" Super Sonic asked the laughing Dark Soul Metal Sonic, in confusion of what the Dark Soul meant.
"Is this some kind of joke? You better start explaining yourself!" Burning Blaze demanded, shown to be slightly annoyed with the Dark Soul's laugh.
While Shadow and the others are focusing on defeating Dark Soul Shadow, Sonic and Blaze found themselves forming an uneasy alliance with Dark Soul Blaze in hopes of defeating the mastermind behind this whole mess: Dark Soul Metal Sonic. During the fight, however, Dark Soul Metal Sonic brought up the mention of bringing "peace" to the world...much to Sonic's surprise. Ceasing his laughter, Dark Soul Metal Sonic decided to give them what they want.
"Have you forgotten already, my friend? I AM Sonic the Hedgehog as well. I am you," Dark Soul Metal Sonic spoke, with Burning Blaze wanting to beat the heck out of the villain for comparing himself to Sonic but Super Sonic stopped her and just listened, "Like you, my objective is to bring peace to this wor-"
"You're not bringing peace! You've brought destruction and harm to everyone in this planet!" Super Sonic quickly snapped, "How's killing innocent li-Ack!"
Before Super Sonic can continued spatting at Dark Soul Metal Sonic and finding the golden hero a nuisance for interrupting, the Dark Soul gave him a blast of lightning that hit Super Sonic and slammed him against the walls.
"Sonic!" Burning Blaze called out to him.
"Like I was SAYING..." Dark Soul Metal Sonic continued on as Burning Blaze came to help Super Sonic, with Dark Soul Blaze not really caring but focuses on the villain himself, "My objective is to bring peace...but unlike you, impatient fool, I'm doing this with actual common sense."
"Common sense?" Dark Soul Blaze repeated as she raised her eyebrow in confusion.
"Sonic...all these years of saving the world from incoming doom, haven't you realized why the world never has true peace?" the villain asked Super Sonic, the golden hedgehog being silent after he got back up while listening, "No? Let me answer that for you then. Good versus Evil. Evil versus Good. Heroes always do their best to destroy the evil to help bring peace to their worlds and people...that's foolish of them. You can't destroy evil, Sonic. Evil will always rise, powerful villains will always come by to threaten this world. My point is, your efforts of being a "hero" are pointless since there's always something or someone going to bring chaos to this world. The answer...the key to bring TRUE peace...is to allow evil to win. Wipe out everything that is good and whatever else that can be the sign of hope. Once the sense of good is gone forever, then...only then...peace is truly brought to the world. That is why the Black Chaos Emerald has chosen me to be the one that ensure that the world gets what it rightfully deserves. "
"...That's a good solution to that answer," Super Sonic said while catching Burning Blaze in surprise of Sonic's response, "But there's one problem with that. I want to help bring peace to my world, but unlike you, I also want to spare everyone's lives and not let my world be ruled by darkness!"
"You shouldn't be even listening to what that Black Chaos Emerald tells you anyways!" Burning Blaze added, supporting Super Sonic's answer to Dark Soul Metal Sonic, "Whatever it is that it's telling you is lying to you!"
Hearing her counterpart answered to her former master, Dark Soul Blaze has come to reality. Could the master plan...the goal of the Dark Souls of bringing terror to the world and bringing pain to others...that the master mind of this conquest is not Dark Soul Sonic like she and the other Dark Soul members follow...but instead the Black Chaos Emerald itself?!
"M-Master, hold on!" Dark Soul Blaze shouted to Dark Soul Metal Sonic, but only to get blasted by a force of lightning.
"It is clear to me that, despite my protests, that you still refuse," Dark Soul Metal Sonic spoke in a serious tone, with Super Sonic and Burning Blaze getting on their guard as they sense a incredible dark energy flowing through the evil Dark Soul, "Then the time for talk is done......TIME TO DIE, FOOLS!!"
